Madeline Mitchell is a Russellville, Alabama-based beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2011 and went on to compete in the Miss USA 2011 pageant, where she placed second runner-up. She won Miss Alabama USA two years after recovering from a 12-day coma and multiple broken bones sustained in a 2008 automobile accident.
She hit a deer and lost control of her vehicle on September 26, 2008, while on her way to show her mother her new outfit for the 2008 Miss Alabama USA competition. Just off Alabama State Route 13, the vehicle crashed into a 40-foot gully and caught fire.
