About Lynnette Thredgold
Lynnette Thredgold Biography
Lynnette Thredgold is a skilled musician and performer who can share the beauty, excitement, and enchantment of her music with your audience, whether she performs with her six-piece band or as a solo artist. Her music has a distinct style that conveys passion and emotion. Lynnette is a classically educated violinist who pushes the instrument's limits. Her presentation includes pop, blues, jazz, classical, and a hint of country. Lynnette has been a professional musician for almost 25 years. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Master of Music in violin playing. She studied violin with William Purcell, Andreas Cardenas, and Leonard Posner, as well as teaching at the University of Texas in Austin. For many years, she was the concertmaster of the Ballet West/Utah Chamber Orchestra and the Pioneer Theater Company. She's also played professionally in orchestras in Colorado, Idaho, Texas, and Utah. Her collaborations with a wide range of musicians, including Mannheim Steamroller, The Moody Blues, Mel Torme, Bill Cosby, Debbie Reynolds, Wayne Newton, Josh Groban, and Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, encouraged her to push the violin's and music's frontiers. Lynnette began performing her own show in 1995, with backing musicians on piano, bass, drums, sax, harp, and flute, including Jed Moss, a former Air Supply pianist. When she performs as a soloist, she records the entire sound of her backing band on a separate track. Amazing Grace, Cool Energy, and the newly released Dancing with the Red Priest are the three CDs Lynnette has published with Mannheim Steamroller's Chuck Penington as co-producer. Bodybuilding and professional wrestling are two of her other passions. She was a world-class natural bodybuilder who won numerous championships, including the United States National Masters Champion in 1999. In the year 2000, Lynnette was cast as Phantom in the nationally televised Women of Wrestling. Because of her diverse experience and enjoyment of musical genres, Lynnette established and founded Lynnette Thredgold School of Music in 2005.
