Lulu Powers' appreciation for great food was instilled early by her professional-caterer mother and gregarious gourmand father. The Powers family spent summers on the beautiful beaches of Nantucket where Lulu honed her skills under the owner of the island's premier specialty food shop and celebrated cookbook author Sarah Leah Chase.
She created her own novel concept in catering: Lulu Powers Food to Flowers and the phone was soon ringing off the hook. Killer cupcakes for a children's birthday party led to a gig for Sigourney Weaver.
