On October 1, 2005, Luis Alberto Moreno was elected President of the Inter-American Development Bank. On July 6, 2010, he was re-elected to a five-year term by the Bank's Board of Governors during a special meeting.
Moreno is also Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) and Chairman of the Multilateral Investment Fund's Donors' Committee as President of the Bank (MIF). Moreno served as Colombia's Ambassador to the United States for seven years before joining the IDB.
