About Lucy Davis
Lucy Davis Biography
Lucy Clare Davis is an actress from England. She portrayed Dawn Tinsley in the BBC sitcom The Office, Dianne in the horror-comedy Shaun of the Dead, Hayley in The Archers, and Etta Candy in Wonder Woman, among other roles. Davis had a cameo appearance on an episode of The Detectives, a show produced by her father and starring him (Jasper Carrott). She played Maria Lucas in the BBC's 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice, as well as a role in One Foot in the Grave's 1996 Christmas special. She featured in the films Sex Lives of the Potato Men and Shaun of the Dead after her breakout performance in The Office while continuing to play Hayley Jordan on BBC Radio 4's The Archers. When her other acting commitments made it difficult for her to continue in the latter role, she stepped down; the character was recast in September 2005. Elephants and Hens, a third-season episode of the UK TV show Black Books, featured her. Davis starred as a Fashion TV anchor on ABC's smash Ugly Betty in 2006, and later that year in NBC's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip as writer Lucy Kenwright. She featured in many episodes of the American television series Reaper in 2008. Davis co-starred with her then-husband Owain Yeoman in ITV's six-episode comedy-drama Married Single Other in 2010 and also featured in a cameo role in The Mentalist. Davis also appears in the thriller Some Guy Who Kills People, directed by John Landis. Davis had a cameo appearance on Family Guy in the episode Be Careful What You Fish For in 2012. Davis had an appearance in the BBC series Death in Paradise in episode 8 of season two. In 2012, she became a Patron of Theatretrain, a performing arts organization. Davis portrays Etta Candy in the film Wonder Woman. Her rendition of the comic book character was the first to be seen in a live-action film. Davis' kidneys were in bad shape, and she needed a kidney transplant in 1997 after being diagnosed with renal failure. She developed diabetes while recuperating from the transplant and was admitted to the hospital in 2005 with renal failure. Her mother gave her a kidney donation.
