Her twin sister, Veronica (Ronnie) Ching Fair, was also a member of the national team, and when Ronnie was called up to play against England in San Jose, California on May 9, 1997, it was the first time a pair of sisters had ever played together in a national team game for any country.
Lorrie and Ronnie both played female soccer for Los Altos High School in Los Altos, California, where they grew up. They were born at Stanford Hospital but spent three years in New York before returning to the Bay Area in 1982.
