London Grammar Biography

Hannah Reid, Dot Major, and Dan Rothman are the members of London Grammar, a British trip-hop trio. Metal & Dust Recordings Ltd published their debut EP Metal & Dust in February 2013. If You Wait, their debut album was released on September 9, 2013. During their first year at the University of Nottingham, vocalist Hannah Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman met in a residential hall. When Rothman spotted a photo of Reid with a guitar on Facebook, he messaged her to ask if she wanted to cooperate. After being introduced to the band by Rothman's fiancée, multi-instrumentalist Dot Major (piano, djembe, drums) was recruited later. The band began by doing small-scale shows in local pubs. After a few years, the group uploaded their song Hey Now to YouTube (as of October 2013, it has received over 1.5 million views). In February 2013, they released their EP Metal & Dust, which reached number five on the Australian iTunes list. In June 2013, they released the track Wasting My Young Years, which reached No. 31 on the UK Singles Chart. Disclosure's No. 1 UK album Settle included the band on the single Help Me Lose My Mind, which was released in June 2013. The band performed at eleven European music festivals in 2013 and recorded two live performances for Radio 1. Strong, their debut single, reached No. 16 on the UK Singles Chart. They published their debut studio album If You Wait the next week, on the 9th, which reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.
