Liz Feld Biography

The Suzanne Wright Foundation was created in 2016 by Bob Wright after the death of his wife to pancreatic cancer. Liz Feld is the President and a member of the Board of Directors. The Foundation is focused on developing a creative new strategy for government pancreatic cancer research, with a focus on generating urgency and action around pancreatic cancer. Liz formerly served as President of Autism Speaks, the world's premier autism science and advocacy organization, from 2012 to 2016. Liz contributed decades of public and commercial sector experience in management, strategic communications, and policy knowledge. Under her leadership, Autism Speaks made significant strides in improving the quality of autism services, research funding, awareness, and advocacy, including the passing of the ABLE and Autism, CARES Acts, as well as the creation of MSSNG, a $50 million whole genome sequencing project with Google. Liz was Mayor of the Village of Larchmont in New York's Hudson Valley from 2006 to 2010, after four years as a Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor. She helped the Village obtain its first AAA credit rating from Moody's Investor Services by securing more than $4 million in state, federal, and local funds to support community initiatives while serving as mayor. Liz joined Mayor Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns throughout her tenure in office. She has gained recognition from the New York League of Conservation Voters as an award-winning environmentalist. She is a member of the Citizens for Responsible Energy Answers (CRES) Board of Directors, a national non-profit organization dedicated to finding long-term solutions to our country's energy problems. Liz has worked at ABC News as the Director of News Information and Nickelodeon as the Senior Vice President of Communications. She's been on national and local television networks and written editorials about politics and public policy. Liz also worked in the Reagan administration, first as a public relations specialist at the Office of Management and Budget, then as a press officer for then-Vice President George H. W. Bush. She graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Government. She is the mother of three children with her husband, Joel Feld, a sports broadcasting executive.
