Lily Kanter is an American serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, best known for co-founding Serena & Lily, a lifestyle home decor brand, and founding Boon Supply Co., a shop-for-good e-commerce platform. Born in Kansas City, she graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Accounting and attended Pepperdine’s Executive MBA program.
Kanter held leadership roles at Microsoft, Deloitte & Touche, and IBM, earning Microsoft’s Chairman’s Award from Bill Gates in 1999 for launching their first retail store. After leaving Microsoft in 2000 to focus on family and philanthropy, she was featured on Time Magazine’s July 2000 cover as a “New Philanthropist” for mentoring disadvantaged youth.
