Leslie Norwalk Biography

Leslie Norwalk works for Epstein Becker Green, EBG Advisors, and National Health Advisors as Strategic Counsel. Warburg Pincus, Peloton Equity, and Enhanced Equity Fund are three private equity businesses that she advises. NuVasive, Press Ganey, Endologix, Abode Healthcare, GWU Medical Faculty Associates, HealthPlan One, and the STARUS Medical Group all have Norwalk on their boards of directors. She is also a member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide. Norwalk was the Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services during the Bush Administration (CMS). She oversaw Medicare, Medicaid, State Child Health Insurance Programs, Survey and Certification of Health Care Facilities, and other federal healthcare programs on a daily basis. She was the agency's Deputy Administrator for four years before that, overseeing the implementation of the Medicare Modernization Act's hundreds of reforms, including the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit. She practiced law at the Washington, D.C., office of Epstein Becker Green before joining the Bush Administration, where she counseled clients on a number of health policy issues. She also worked at the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and the Office of the United States Trade Representative during the first Bush administration. Norwalk, a Dayton, Ohio native, received her law degree from George Mason University School of Law, where she was a Dean's Scholar and an editor of the George Mason Law Review. She graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations.
