Leonard Burman is the head of the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center and a Paul Volcker professor at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Public Administration and International Affairs. Burman is also a senior research associate at Syracuse University's Center for Policy Research and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
In 2002, he co-founded the Tax Policy Center, which is a collaboration between the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution. Burman formerly worked for the US Treasury Department as deputy assistant secretary for tax analysis and the Congressional Budget Office as a senior analyst.
