Subsequent to moving on from the American Theater and Dramatic Academy in 1985 Lee did a great deal of stage work in New York City. Notwithstanding, from 1986-89 he essentially worked at the Empire Diner. That is the place he met Tom Fontana (the honor winning maker and author whose work incorporates Oz Homicide: Life on the Street and St.
Somewhere else) who lived around the bend from the cafe. In 1990, Lee went with Fontana to Los Angeles to enable him to move. While at a café on the day subsequent to showing up in L.A. a projecting chief and companion of Fontana inquired as to whether he was an entertainer.
