Lazarus Lynch is a globally trained culinary artist, the host of Food Network's digital original series Comfort Nation, and the face of the popular brand Son of a Southern Chef, with his signature curly afro, unusual dress style, and captivating personality. Lazarus Lynch, a New York City native, began cooking at a young age under the direction of his late father, Johnny Ray Lynch, a southern chef from Bessemer, Alabama. In the kitchen, they formed a particular friendship that would eventually blossom into a profitable media company. In 2015, Lazarus' online and YouTube presence drew attention, and he was appointed as a co-host on the ABC Network's digital series Tastemade Get Cookin'. He is a regular on the Tastemade Snapchat Discover Channel and is a featured host on the Webby-award-winning mobile site and app Tastemade. For his expertise in millennial cooking and eating patterns, as well as updated soul food cuisine, he has been featured on several national television shows, including The Today Show. He graduated from the State University of New York College at Buffalo with a B.A. in Individualized Studies. He resides in New York City and is working on his first cookbook with Penguin Random House (due out in Fall 2018).
