Lauryn Williams is a writer, podcaster, public speaker, and volunteer. But that isn't why most people know her name. She started competing at the elite level in two Olympic sports for twelve years. Williams made four US Olympic teams, winning one gold and two silver medals.
She is also the first woman in American history to win medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. She may be small in stature, standing only 5'3-1/4, but the frequency of her churning legs was unrivalled, making her difficult to beat. She announced her retirement from track and field after three Olympic Games in 2013.
