Laurie Frick is a data artist who investigates self-tracking patterns....sensors, surveillance, what will it all mean? Utilizing her engineering and high-technology background, she provides a glimpse into the future of human data portraits that are physically made and handcrafted as intelligent wallpaper. And is about to release FRICKbits, a free iPhone app that employs an algorithm to create art from data. She has an MFA from the New York Studio School, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and is currently enrolled in the ITP programme at New York University. Frick has recently received residencies from the University of Texas Neuroscience Research Center, the Headlands, Yaddo, as well as the Bemis Center. Frick's talks and news sources have appeared in Nature Publishing Group, the LA Times, New Scientist, NPR, Creative Mornings, and TEDxAustin.
