Lauren Green is an American journalist, musician, and the Chief Religion Correspondent for Fox News Channel (FNC) since joining in 1996. The youngest of five children, she was raised in Minneapolis by a supportive family that nurtured her passion for music and learning despite limited resources. Green earned a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Green’s journalism career began as a general assignment reporter at KSTP-TV (ABC) in St. Paul (1988–1993), followed by a weekend anchor role at WBBM-TV (CBS) in Chicago. At FNC, she initially provided updates on Fox & Friends and later became Chief Religion Correspondent, covering events like Pope Francis’ election and Pope Benedict XVI’s retirement.
