Laura Escobar Biography

Laura Escobar is the President of Eagle Home Mortgage, a mortgage lending subsidiary of the nation's largest homebuilder, Lennar Corporation. She is in charge of a team of over 1,100 associates spread across 54 locations in 26 states. Eagle's sales volume in fiscal year 2018 was $11.1 billion. Laura has been in the mortgage industry for 30 years and has held leadership positions with both bank-owned and independent mortgage companies, overseeing all aspects of mortgage banking such as production, operations, compliance, accounting, and training. Her first-hand knowledge of every aspect of mortgage lending has empowered her to manage and fully integrate all of these departments within Eagle Home Mortgage. Laura joined Eagle as a Branch Manager in Miami in 2002. She was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2004, where she managed the Eastern Region, and to Executive Vice President in 2016, where she was in charge of all aspects of Eagle's entire Builder Division's operations and production. In 2018, she was named President of Eagle Home Mortgage. Laura is passionate about "Paying It Forward." This is accomplished through her participation not only in her local community, but also in communities across the country. Participation in organisations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Laura is also a licenced mental health counsellor who spends a lot of time helping underprivileged women. She is a strong supporter of mPower and a strong advocate for women and minorities. Laura currently serves on a number of advisory boards (TransUnion Mortgage Advisory, Fannie Mae AHAC, Mortgage Action Alliance, Ellie Mae Executive Advisory and was recently appointed to the MBA Board of Directors for the upcoming year).
