Larry Beasley was the City of Vancouver's retiring Director of Planning. He is currently the University of British Columbia's "Distinguished Practice Professor of Planning" and the founder and principal of Beasley and Associates, a worldwide planning firm. Mr.
Beasley established land use and transit plans, as well as cautious development management, over his thirty years of public service, which have significantly changed Vancouver's inner core. He also oversaw neighborhood revitalization, a robust historical preservation program, the City's urban design studio, and a successful civic fundraising campaign.
