Kristofer Helgen is a Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History research zoologist and curator of mammals. He received his Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Adelaide in Australia, and he has worked on nearly every continent. Kris is well-known for discovering new mammal species all over the world.
He has appeared on the Discovery Channel as well as numerous television and radio shows around the world. Despite the fact that he is still in his early career, Helgen has discovered approximately 100 species of mammals that were previously unknown to science, such as the recently discovered carnivorous mammal, the olinguito.
