The Utah Jazz selected Snyder in the first round (16th overall) in the 2004 NBA Draft. He was moved to the New Orleans Hornets after one season as part of one of the most significant moves in NBA history (13 players, 5 teams involved). Snyder was promoted to starting quarterback midway through his only season in New Orleans.
In 68 games, he played over 20 minutes per game and set a career-best with 28 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was then sent to the Houston Rockets in exchange for a 2008 second-round draught selection and cash.
