Kimberly Schlapman, born in Cornelia, Georgia, is a singer in a band called Little Big Town. She’s also the host of Great American Country’s Kimberly’s Simply Southern. In 1998, Schlapman helped found Little Big Town. Schlapman moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to attend college at Samford University. She began singing in church and competed in many junior high talent shows.
Schlapman moved to Nashville with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild to pursue careers in country music. Little Big Town became well known for the Top 10 single, “Boondocks,” and has since sold over 1.5 million records and received several ACM, CMA and Grammy nominations. The country duo won the 2015 ACM Award for Vocal Group of the Year.
