Kimberly MacPherson Biography

Kimberly MacPherson, MBA, MPH, is a Professor in the Health Policy and Management faculty group at the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. She is in charge of the two-year MPH programme, the one-year track for clinicians, and the MPP/MPH joint-degree programme offered in collaboration with the Goldman School of Public Policy. Ms. MacPherson teaches a variety of graduate-level courses at UC Berkeley, including Health Policy and Management Foundations and Health Care Negotiations. Ms. MacPherson brings to BCHT 20 years of experience in the health industry, including leadership roles in operations, management consulting, strategic/business planning, as well as product development. She has advised Catholic Healthcare West, Ascension Health, Kaiser Permanente, Partners Healthcare, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, among others, on health care delivery, financing, and research. Ms. MacPherson began her health career in 1988 as a Senior Account Executive with Prudential Insurance's group health division. She has an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and an MPH from the School of Public Health. She also has degrees from UC Davis in Organizational Behavior and Psychology.
