Kim Wilson Biography

Kim Wilson is the Founder of The Loretta Johnson Global Abstinence Project, as well as a Speaker, Writer, Scholar, Researcher, and Consultant. Kim created and delivers the workshop, Experiencing God's Best for Your Life Through Abstaining. Kim Wilson and other presenters in Africa, Asia, and North America deliver this workshop to approximately 10,000 women and girls each month across the United States, three continents, and more than 20 countries. HIV/AIDS-related illness is now the leading cause of death among Black women aged 25-34, and Black women account for nearly 70% of new HIV cases in the United States. (In some major cities, the percentages are as high as in some Sub-Saharan African countries.) In addition, 72 percent of Black children are born out of wedlock and raised in single-parent homes, the majority of which are started heading by their mothers (and no father). Hispanic women account for 21% of new HIV cases in the United States, and 53% of Hispanic children are born out of wedlock and raised in single-parent homes, mostly by their mothers (and no father). As a result, if we lose Black and Hispanic single mothers to sexually transmitted diseases, a large number of children will have no parent on whom they can rely or who wants to raise them (which has already happened to a generation of children in sub Saharan Africa). This is a life-or-death issue for so many women, and it leads to a bleak future for far too many children in the United States and around the world. As a result, Kim Wilson aims to teach Black and Hispanic women and girls in the U.S., Sub-Saharan Africa, and around the world about abstaining. As a result, Kim Wilson focuses on educating Black and Hispanic women and girls in the U.S., Sub-Saharan Africa, and around the world about abstinence. She relies on data, research, and personal experiences to promote abstinence as the only 100% guaranteed method of avoiding the problems associated with out-of-wedlock pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, because this solution is not encouraged nearly enough just to women as well as girls in Black and Hispanic communities. Kim has worked as an Adjunct Professor for Regent University and Liberty University (both major Christian universities) and is the author of several books and training guides, including her most recent book, The ABSTINENCE Handbook: for Women and Girls Throughout the World, with the goal of reaching, communicating, and promoting the benefits of abstinence to Black and Hispanic women in the United States, Sub-Saharan Africa, and around the world. This book is intended to be quick to read and simple to follow, and it is already available in print, audio book CD, and Spanish translation. She has also appeared as a guest on numerous radio and television shows, including The Harvest Show (Family Entertainment Network/LeSea Broadcasting), Atlanta Live, as well as Urban Talk Radio (American Family Affiliation or AFA), and has had numerous articles written about her organisation and contributions in the United States and around the world. Kim received a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. She resides in Peachtree City, Georgia, with her husband and sons, Clayton and Clay III (a suburb of Atlanta).
