Kevin Phillips Biography

To some, Kevin Phillips is best known for his leading role in Suna Goneras Pride (2007). Kevin spent his adolescence in both Moncks Corner, South Carolina, and Brooklyn, New York. In the year 2000, he decided to forego his basketball scholarship at SUNY-Cobleskill in order to pursue a career in acting. Phillips made his stage debut in William Hicks' off-Broadway play A Little Piece of Life. His first film credit was a supporting role opposite Tim Meadows in Queen Latifah's The Cookout (2004). He also appeared in American Gun, a 2005 film starring Forest Whitaker and Donald Sutherland, as well as Rock The Paint, which premiered at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival. Kevin appeared as Mark Pitts, the late rapper's co-manager, in 2009's Notorious, a biopic of the Notorious B.I.G. Kevin completed the street-fighting film Blood and Bone, as well as the musical Mama, I Want to Sing!, starring R&B singer Ciara, in 2008. Kevin is currently filming his lead role in Sinners & Saints, an indie action film. Kevin starred as the lead male role in R&B singer Ciara's Never Ever music video in January 2009, his second time working with Ciara. His performance in the 2012 film Red Tails chronicled the storey of the Tuskegee Airmen.
