Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer are filmmakers known for their work within the horror genre. Kölsch & Widmyer have collaborated on a number of projects including short films feature films and television. In 2003 Kölsch & Widmyer co-founded Parallactic Pictures.
Parallactic Pictures began with the back-to-back production of two feature-length projects: Postcards From The Future a documentary on bestselling author Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) and Absence a kidnapping mystery told from three different points-of-view. They followed their two first feature films with a string of short films many of which were well-received at film festivals.
Kölsch & Widmyer gained notoriety when their film Starry Eyes premiered at SXSW in 2014. The film received positive reviews from Fangoria Shock Till You Drop Bloody Disgusting and Time Magazine. Starry Eyes went on to play at other festivals including Sitges Fright Fest UK and Fantasia.
The duo co-directed Paramount's Pet Sematary an adaptation of the acclaimed Stephen King novel of the same name. The film is set to premiere at the 2019 SXSW film festival. Kölsch & Widmyer also worked together on multiple episodes of the third season of the horror television series Scream based on the horror films directed by Wes Craven. The third season is slated for release in 2019.
