In 2013 Kevin Gibbon started Shyp a San Francisco-based company that utilizes a mobile app to provide an easy on demand shipping experience. The app aims to replace the need for consumers to visit the post office. The company picks up packages and ships items through USPS and other major carriers. As CEO Kevin is responsible for Shyp's day-to-day operations guiding the company's vision and leading its growth.
Gibbon studied computer science at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. An engineer by training Kevin previously founded Shoparound an iPhone application that garnered a top 100 ranking. Prior to that he led the Boeing engineering team where he was responsible for creating the organization's first iPad application approved for cockpit use. Kevin first anticipated the opportunity to transform the shipping industry as an eBay powerseller in his hometown outside Vancouver. Under Kevin’s leadership Shyp has raised $12.2 million in venture capital from venerated investors including Sherpa Ventures and Homebrew and launched its operations in San Francisco New York City and Miami.
