Kelly Siegler Biography

Kelly grew up in Blessing, Texas, a small town of 900 people in Matagorda County where her father runs a barbershop and her late mother managed a number of eateries, including the famous Blessing Hotel. Kelly attended the University of Texas in Austin and got her degree in International Business in 1984 after graduating as valedictorian from Tidehaven High School in El Maton. In 1987, she graduated from South Texas College of Law with a law degree. Kelly Siegler is a seasoned prosecutor who is well-known for her toughness, persistence, and courtroom prowess. Kelly served as the District Attorney of Harris County for almost 21 years, fighting for justice for Harris County residents and crime victims until she retired in May 2008. Since 1987, Kelly has been a licensed attorney in the state of Texas. Kelly ascended through the levels of the Special Crimes Bureau, which comprises the Major Offenders Division, the Major Fraud Division, the Identity Theft Division, the Asset Forfeiture Division, and the Consumer Fraud Division, in the more than two decades she served as a prosecutor. Kelly has prosecuted some of Harris County's most difficult cases involving some of the hardest offenders the county has ever seen. And she's done it against some of the state's most feared and respected criminal defense lawyers. She has over 200 jury trials under her belt and is in high demand as a lecturer and expert on successful courtroom arguments.
