Kelly Link is an American author and editor renowned for her genre-defying short stories, blending magical realism, fantasy, horror, and literary fiction. Her debut novel, “The Book of Love” (2024), a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, explores supernatural themes and the complexities of love. Link’s short story collections—“Stranger Things Happen” (2001), “Magic for Beginners” (2005), “Pretty Monsters” (2008), “Get in Trouble” (2015), and “White Cat, Black Dog” (2023)—have earned her a Hugo Award, three Nebula Awards, a World Fantasy Award, and a 2018 MacArthur “Genius” Grant.
With her husband, Gavin J. Grant, she co-founded Small Beer Press and runs Book Moon, an independent bookstore in Easthampton, Massachusetts. A Columbia University B.A. and UNC Greensboro MFA graduate, Link lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, with her family.
