Since his meeting as the twentieth conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra in 1995, Keith Lockhart has greatly expanded the orchestra's activities and appeal. During his 16-year tenure, he performed the Boston Pops in over 1,300 music events and pioneered the JazzFest & EdgeFest series, which featured prominent jazz as well as indie performers able to perform with the Pops.
Lockhart conducted the Boston Pops in the pregame show of Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans in Feb 2002, the very first moment an orchestra had ever performed at this occasion. Lockhart has aimed over 600 concerts and generated 56 tv programs.
