HIV/AIDS had just recently been identified while Keith Hansen was a student at the Woodrow Wilson School. It was not even a big policy concern outside of the public health field, and it was certainly not viewed as a possible danger to world growth.
Keith is now a Senior Director, Human Development, Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank, where he works on a daily basis in the heart of this global policy issue. The School's unusual combination of politics, economics, organizational studies, psychology, and even philosophy classes gave me a more relevant and long-term education than I had anticipated.
