Award-winning filmmaker, photographer, and director Kaz Firpo is a Tisch School of the Arts alumnus. His writing examines humanism and political structures. His emphasis on impact storytelling has earned him a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the top spot on the 2017 Black List, and the Best Documentary award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
He was born and raised in San Francisco. Kaz, who is primarily interested in telling human tales, worked on the front lines of the Syrian refugee crisis to produce The Refuge Project, a multimedia documentary that had its debut at SXSW.
