Doctor Kay Jamison is the Dalio Professor of Mood Disorders and Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She co-wrote the standard medical text on bipolar illness and wrote An Unquiet Mind, an autobiography about her own experience with depression and mania. Robert Lowell: Setting the River on Fire, her latest book, was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the recipient of the Lewis Thomas Prize, the National Academy of Medicine's Sarnat Prize, and a MacArthur Fellowship.
