About Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif Biography

Katrina was born in Hong Kong and traveled the world with the rest of her family before living in London for a few years. Katrina got captivated during a fortuitous trip to India, and the rest, as they say, is history. After a few years of supporting several commercial projects, Kaif made a cameo appearance in Ram Gopal Verma's drama Sarkar in 2005. She earned her first significant part the following year in David Dhawan's Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, alongside Salman Khan. The film was a tremendous box office hit. In 2007, Kaif starred in four films, all of which were box office successes. Namastey London, a romantic comedy directed by Vipul Shah, was her debut film. She then appeared in Anil Sharma's melodrama Apne as a supporting character. Her next film, Partner, starring Salman Khan, Govinda, and Lara Dutta, and was directed by David Dhawan. Welcome, directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Anil Kapoor, was her penultimate film of 2007, and it was a box office success in India. Abbas-action Mustan's thriller Race was her first release of 2008. Kaif next starred as Akshay Kumar's love interest and Ranvir Shorey's fiancée in Anees Bazmee's action comedy Singh Is Kinng. The film was also the third highest-grossing picture of the year. Kaif's final film of the year, Yuvvraaj, directed by Subhash Ghai, was a box office flop, but its script was inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Library for aesthetic value, original screenplay with depth, and the picture as a whole. She starred alongside John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in Kabir Khan's terrorist drama New York in 2009. In both India and outside, it was a critical and financial triumph. Kaif earned her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress for her performance. Prakash Jha's political thriller Raajneeti, in which she starred with Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, was Kaif's first release of 2010. The film did exceptionally well at the box office upon its initial release, and Kaif received positive feedback for her depiction of the vivacious Indu Sakseria. Farah Khan's brainless comedy Tees Maar Khan, starring Akshay Kumar, was her penultimate release that year. The film was considered a failure after receiving unanimously unfavorable reviews from reviewers. Kaif's song from the film Sheila Ki Jawani, on the other hand, became a big chartbuster. In 2011, she appeared in Zoya Akhtar's dramedy Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara opposite Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Kalki Koechlin, which was a critical and financial success. Kaif was acclaimed for her depiction of Laila, a happy-go-lucky diving instructor. Katrina is a revelation...the actress continues to amaze you with her performances in film after film, remarked Taran Adarsh. She then starred alongside Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in the Yash Raj Films comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The film was a box office triumph, and Kaif received excellent feedback for her depiction as lively punk-rock teenager Dimple Dixit, with Rahul Gangwani stating that the film ultimately belongs to Katrina. She glistens, sizzles, and energizes the movie. As a result, she was nominated for her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Ek Tha Tiger, a spy-thriller directed by Kabir Khan and starring Salman Khan, was her first release of 2012. The film was released on August 15, 2012, and it is the second Bollywood film to reach the 300 crore box office record. Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan, in which she co-stars with Shah Rukh Khan, and Vijay Krishna Acharya's action flick Dhoom 3, in which she co-stars with Aamir Khan, are two of her current projects. In early 2013, she begins filming with Hrithik Roshan in Twentieth Century Fox's version of Siddarth Anand's "Knight & Day."
