Katherine Moennig was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 29, 1977. She is an actress and producer who has appeared in films such as Gone (2012), The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), and Everybody's Fine (2011). (2009).
She is also recognized for her performances as Shane McCutcheon on The L Word (2004–09), Jake Pratt on Young Americans (2000), and Lena on the Showtime series Ray Donovan, which she has played since 2013. At the age of 18, Moennig traveled to New York City to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
