Katey Sagal is an actress and musician. She is well-known for her role as Peggy Bundy on Married...with Children. Sagal started her acting career by appearing in made-for-TV movies from 1971 to 1975. She also worked as a backing vocalists for artists such as Bob Dylan Tanya Tucker and Bette Midler. KISS's Gene Simmons also asked her to sing background vocals on his solo album in 1978. In addition she was in the rock group The Group With No Name. She began working in television again in 1985 Mary starring Mary Tyler Moore. Her appearance on the series led her to landing the role of Peggy Bundy on FOX's long-running sitcom Married...with Children. At her audition Sagal actually brought along her own red wig. With approval the look was used on the show for its 11-year run. For her portrayal of Peggy Sagal was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards and two American Comedy Awards. Sagal has voiced many cartoon characters including Spinelli's mother on Recess and Leela the cyclops spacecraft captain on Matt Groening's Futurama.
