Kate Markgraf is a great soccer player who represents the United States women's national team. Kate led Detroit Country to the state championship in 1991 while still in high school, scoring 16 goals and adding 26 assists. Kate played volleyball and was named to the All-League team three times. Kate was named to the NSCAA All-American soccer squad once and three times to the All-State team. Markgraf was a three-time NSCAA All-American at Notre Dame, as well as the 1997 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, three-time All-Big East selection, and the defensive MVP of the NCAA Final Four in 1995 when her team won the NCAA women's soccer title.
