Kate Johnson won a silver medal in rowing at the 2004 Olympics. During the preliminary heats of the Athens Olympic Games, she and her teammates set a world record in the women's eight. Johnson is a two-time World Champion, a five-time World Cup winner, and a member of nine senior and junior national teams.
Kate returned home from competing in the Junior World Championships in Scotland at the age of 15 (as a novice rower) and wrote in her journal a promise to herself that she would one day compete in the Olympic Games.
