Kari Lehtonen is an unrestricted free agent in the Finnish professional ice hockey league. He previously played for the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars (NHL).
He was selected second overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, becoming the highest-drafted European goaltender and tying Patrik Laine, Alexander Barkov, and Kaapo Kakko for the highest-drafted Finnish player in NHL history. He has previously played for the Atlanta Thrashers, the Dallas Stars, and the Helsinki Jokerit.
