Karen L. Nyberg is a NASA astronaut who also works as a mechanical engineer. During her first mission in 2008, she has become the 50th woman in space and spent 6 months aboard the International Space Station.
She was chosen by NASA in 2000 and also has a Bachelor of Science Science in Mechanical Engineering Engineering from the University of North Dakota, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the very same university.
