Executive Chef Justin Everett of Murray Circle is a long-time Bay Area resident with substantial expertise in California's Wine Country. Justin's first job in a kitchen was a dishwashing job in high school, as is the case with many renowned chefs. He worked his way up through college at restaurants, eventually earning a Culinary Arts degree from the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon. He worked as Chef de Partie at Bouchon in Yountville and Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford after returning to Wine Country. He was most recently Executive Chef at El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma, where he built ties with local producers and implemented a regionally-inspired menu with approachable seasonal food. Justin has acquired a following for his handcrafted charcuterie and whole-animal cookery, having won multiple accolades and acclaim, including Best Chef of Napa/Sonoma in 2009 and 2010. He employs a well-balanced mix of traditional and modern culinary techniques, with a focus on procuring the best meat, seafood, and produce. Because of his long-standing partnerships with local farmers, winemakers, ranchers, fishermen, and other craft producers, he defines his meals as ingredient-driven. His food shows his reverence for the seasons, with each herb, fruit, and vegetable gathered at its peak. This meticulous attention to detail results in a sophisticated blend of tastes and textures that bring each meal to life. After working closely together at Auberge du Soleil, Murray Circle's original Executive Chef Joseph Humphrey personally picked Justin as his replacement. He is excited to introduce his sustainable values and admiration for local goods to Murray Circle. He's also looking forward to continuing to keep his social responsibilities by hiring, feeding, and helping his neighbors. He has previously coached local youngsters in the kitchen and collaborated with Benzinger Family Winery to promote an understanding and respect for cultivating the land. Justin, his wife, and their three boys live in the North Bay.
