He is best recognized for his roles as Dr. Mike Burton in the NBC comedy Ed and as Jake in the Scrubs recurrent guest role. On September 10, 2000, he married Claire Rankin. Randall was arrested on July 31, 2002, in Brooklyn, New York, for reportedly using crack cocaine with a homeless guy.
He apparently passed blood and urine drug tests on the day of the event, and charges were dismissed.
