Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr. is a Central Intelligence Agency veteran with 31 years of service. He was the Director of the National Clandestine Service, the CIA's chief of all human clandestine activities, and was in charge of the intelligence community's human operations coordination when he retired in January 2008.
He was Director of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center from 2002 to late 2004, where he oversaw global information collecting programs and covert action operations against international terrorist organizations following the Taliban's departure from Afghanistan following the 9/11 attacks. He was previously the Counternarcotics Center's Deputy Director and the Latin America Division's Chief.
