Jonathan Roumie Biography

Jonathan Roumie is a professional actor and voice-over artist who has spent years working in virtually every area of film, tv, theater, and voice, both in the mainstream media as well as the Faith-based genre.

He is currently playing Jesus in the first multi-season series about the life of Christ called The Chosen, which is the highest crowdfunded media project of all time. Previously, he donned the sandals of the character of Christ in several other films, including The Two Thieves, a multiple award-winner; for an International, touring multi-media project about the life of St. Faustina; and for live performances. In addition to working on The Chosen, Roumie has voiced several video games. When not acting, he's busy making music and playing with various bands. He recently wrote a single that was released in Europe for an original album he co-produced.

Born, raised, and trained in New York City, now living in Los Angeles, Roumie's method-based approach, in addition to his facility for accents and language, his authentic Middle-Eastern heritage and his spiritual background has made him popular in this genre. His experience in network amd cable television and film, both in front of and behind the camera, allows him the grace and ease to work with colleagues from virtually any area of the industry, plus his dual, European citizenship and multi-cultural roots provide him the ability to work locally in a number of countries.

In Fall 2016, Roumie was honored with an ecclesiastical knighthood through the International Order of OSMTH, Switzerland and in 2017 elevated to Chaplain. He currently active in several ministries in his home parish, resides on the Board of Directors for Catholics in Media Associates and heads up a Faith-based Entertainment ministry out of Beverly Hills, CA, serving the Greater Los Angeles area.
