Jonas Nahm is an American political economist and Associate Professor of Energy, Resources, and Environment at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC. His research examines the intersection of climate policy, environmental politics, and economic and industrial policy, with a focus on clean energy transitions in China, Germany, and the United States.
Nahm authored “Collaborative Advantage: Forging Green Industries in the New Global Economy” (2021), which examines innovation and industrial development in renewable energy sectors. He served as Senior Economist for Industrial Strategy on the White House Council of Economic Advisers (2023–2024), advising on industrial policy, global trade, and supply chain resilience. Nahm holds a Ph.D.
