Jonathan Mark Foreman is the lead vocalist, guitarist, principal composer, and co-founder of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. He was born on October 22, 1976. With drummer Chad Butler and bassist Tim Foreman (Jonathan's brother), he formed Switchfoot in 1996.
Foreman was born in California's San Bernadino County, although his family relocated to Massachusetts and Virginia Beach when he was a youngster. Todd Cooper, who pushed him to play guitar, became a close friend of his. Cooper went on to work as a guitar tech with Switchfoot until leaving in 2005 to pursue his own musical endeavors.
