Jokha al-Harthi is an Omani academic and writer. She received her education in both Oman and the U.K. Edinburgh University awarded her a Ph.d. degree in classical Arabic literature. She is presently an assistant professor in Sultan Qaboos University's Arabic department. A l-Harthi has 3 short story collections and 3 novels to his credit (Manamat, Sayyidat el-Qamar and Narinjah).
She has also written scholarly articles. Her work has been published in Banipal magazine and translated into English, Korean, Serbian, German and Italian. She also took part in the 2011 IPAF Nadwa (writers' workshop) as 1 of 8 participants. In 2016, al-Harthi received the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts, and Literature for her book Narinjah (Bitter Orange).
