Sage Bionetworks' Chief Commons Officer is John Wilbanks. In reply to a We the People petition spearheaded by Wilbanks and agreed to sign by 65,000 people, United States government announced a plan in February 2013 to start opening taxpayer-funded research data and make it freely available.
