Living in rural Ohio, John created an innovative appreciation for farm quality ingredients. Before deciding to pursue his culinary dream, he attended the University of Michigan and got a degree in Engineering. He began as a Garde Manger at The Lark in 1994 and rose through the ranks to his present role as Chef de Cuisine.
He has 2 James Beard nominees for Best Chef: Great Lakes (2008 and 2009) and is widely regarded as one of the top chefs in the City of detroit. "Spreading the infectious spirit of cooking!" is his philosophy.
