John C. Servis is a well-known American Thoroughbred racehorse trainer who rose to prominence after his horse Smarty Jones won the Kentucky Derby in May 2004. Servis' reputation was further enhanced when the horse went on to win the Preakness Stakes. Servis works mostly out of Philadelphia Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, where he trains horses.
He was born into a family of Thoroughbred racehorse owners and trainers. He relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when he was a child, where his father worked as a jockey.
