John J. Legere is an American businessman who is the Chief Executive Officer and President of T-Mobile US. He has previously served as an executive for AT&T, Dell, Global Crossing and serves on the CTIA Board of Directors.
Legere was appointed as the new CEO for T-Mobile USA (now T-Mobile US) in September 2012, and has since been noted for T-Mobile's "uncarrier" approach to contract-free wireless networks. He first worked in telecommunications at New England Telephone. Legere then spent nearly 20 years at AT&T, where he spent a period working under Daniel Hesse, formerly CEO of Sprint Corporation. He served as chief executive for AT&T Asia from April 1994 to November 1997, and he also spent time as head of AT&T Global Strategy and Business Development. From 1997 to 1998, he served as President of Worldwide outsourcing of AT&T solutions.
